[voice] 3rd grievance.

[The SFC clicked on and for a few moments there was nothing said or seen. The only thing that could be heard was the occasional sizzle of what sounded peculiarly like a frying pan and a softly cursed 'mon dieu'.]

...bad time to ask, I know. But has anyone spoken with my idiotic brother lately? Or Mister England for that matter?

[He sounded a bit tired and worried, but gave away nothing more than that.

...yeah. He's also in your kitchen, Iceland.]

[oh... Canada hasn't noticed it yet...]

... I'm sorry, Mattie.

[identity profile] vimyridge.livejournal.com 2011-01-14 08:40 am (UTC)(link)
[Canada is... sometimes oblivious. Or simply refuses to believe because it can't be like that.]

W- what's the matter, Red?

[Sleepy Iceland is sleepy. With nothing to get up for, he forgot that nine in the morning'd come so soon. Thus, he doesn't quite realize he's answering to something Canada was saying to the SFC.]

I haven't seen him around.. [Not the best argument a quasi-hermit could make, but hey.]

By the way, that smells delicious.

I guess that he's just being Al, then. I'm sure he'll turn up somewhere. Probably with some great tale.

[..Oh. He didn't wake him, did he? Because he hopes not as he's looking horribly guilty as he looks from the pan to Iceland, then back to the pan again.]

O- oh! Thank you. I didn't wake you, did I?

Re: action;

[identity profile] islandnation.livejournal.com 2011-01-14 07:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Mm, sounds like him. [He was familiar with Al being... whimsical.]

No problem, and you didn't. [To be honest, he had expected him to make a bit more noise. He underestimated the sneaking power of Canada, evidently.]

action;

[identity profile] vimyridge.livejournal.com 2011-01-14 07:32 pm (UTC)(link)
[At least he put it in nicer terms. Sometimes Canada was quite conent with saying 'stupid' instead of 'whimsical'.]

I'm glad, then. Along the same lines, I hope that you don't mind I'm, ah, here. [If Canada wanted, he could probably be the perfect ninja. Thankfully he really has no desire to do so.]

...it does seem like a bad time and all.

Re: action;

[identity profile] islandnation.livejournal.com 2011-01-14 07:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, no, I don't mind. [It was a very good thing that he had probable ninja powers and the personality he had. The two were probably related, but still. Who would mind someone coming in sneakily and making breakfast, anyway? Especially if they sort of didn't make any noise.]

We did agree on it, so don't feel bad. It's just easy to get used to sleeping in late when there aren't meetings or whatever to get up for, I suppose.

..I hope the kitchen is alright to work with. I don't use it much. [Actually, he hadn't used it at all since he moved into the place, but he didn't want to come off sounding quite that lazy.]

action;

[identity profile] vimyridge.livejournal.com 2011-01-14 10:26 pm (UTC)(link)
[Looking relieved to hear that, he offered him a light smile for a brief moment. It did make him feel better to hear that.]

That is true. It's a nice feeling to sleep in, too. [He sounded a bit distracted for a moment, but that was gone in an instant as he was shrugging his shoulders once more, offering a shake of his head. It had been a good thing he had thought ahead and brought his own, fresh ingredients.]

It's fine. I'm not going to have to start coming and cooking for you, am I?

action;

[identity profile] islandnation.livejournal.com 2011-01-15 01:42 am (UTC)(link)
Mmm. [He felt silly, but it was nice to sleep in.]

That's good, then.

[Then he puffs out his cheeks indignantly, though not entirely seriously.] I can cook for myself!

action;

[identity profile] vimyridge.livejournal.com 2011-01-15 01:54 am (UTC)(link)
[At least Canada wasn't going to scold him for doing so. That would be like the pot calling the kettle black since he had a rather horrible habit of doing it, himself.

Thinking about the statement for a moment, he grinned widely.]
Of course you can. Perhaps all you need is some motivation then.

action;

[identity profile] islandnation.livejournal.com 2011-01-15 02:30 am (UTC)(link)
[Saying that he almost sounded like Al. Almost. At least, he could believe they were related.]

Mmm. Still, it seems a rather finicky process.

[Canada's talking to the nation where the national delicacies were and are, to some extent, putrefied shark and lamb's skulls.
..He probably wouldn't be the most motivated cooking student.]

action;

[identity profile] vimyridge.livejournal.com 2011-01-15 02:39 am (UTC)(link)
[They did have their moments it would seem. When they did, it could sometimes be rather scary.]

It's not so bad. You first have to find something you enjoy making. From there, it gets easier. [Kraft dinners also counts as 'cooking'. Just as an FYI. But then again, Canada has a certain love of it.]

We have plenty of time to work on that.

action; kraft /is/ pretty awesome

[identity profile] islandnation.livejournal.com 2011-01-15 03:16 am (UTC)(link)
[It was, a bit. Ironically, the opposite of Iceland, who was uncannily like his brother but in denial of it. And of being someone's brother in general, but that was a different story.]

Um, if you say so. [Canada certainly did like his pancakes, so Iceland believed it. He was convinced, though, that fancy cooking was just that; Ice's diet was basically microwavable food and boxed licorice.]

..I guess we do.

[identity profile] pristinestar.livejournal.com 2011-01-15 03:21 am (UTC)(link)
[how does he even say it? he found it immensely hard to admit it to Canada, simply because of the fact that Red knows how close they really are...

but he had to say it... somehow. quietly, he received the idea of showing America's bomber jacket. so he took it from his shoulders, removing it as he raised it up to show in the video transmission.]

...

action; i'll agree with that. i could live on it;;

[identity profile] vimyridge.livejournal.com 2011-01-15 03:33 am (UTC)(link)
[There's still hope that one day, centuries from now, that Iceland'll finally be accepting of things. And then Canada could move in and claim to be related since Vikings had technically settled along Newfoundland and all.]

You sound a bit apprehensive. [He could be imagining it as well, but he just wanted to be sure that he wasn't pushing it onto him or anythying.] We'd start small, of course. Nothing fancy right from the start.

1/3

[identity profile] vimyridge.livejournal.com 2011-01-15 03:42 am (UTC)(link)
[There was nothing said at first as his expression remained quite blank. It was as if he couldn't quite find the words to say.]

[identity profile] vimyridge.livejournal.com 2011-01-15 03:43 am (UTC)(link)
[Chewing his bottom lip slightly, he looked away.] T- that's not fair. At all. I messed everything up and had so m- many plans to fix it and n- now I can't even do that much.

[identity profile] vimyridge.livejournal.com 2011-01-15 03:44 am (UTC)(link)
[Taking a deep breath, he still kept his focus elsewhere.]

H- how long ago?

action;

[identity profile] islandnation.livejournal.com 2011-01-15 04:32 am (UTC)(link)
[True. And Iceland is half related to England after all, so all the more reason. Someday he'll accept it... someday far, far away.]

A bit. Cooking's never been terribly nice to me. [He fondly remembered, with the hint of a smile, nearly setting Denmark's kitchen on fire when he was asked to watch something for a couple minutes. Granted, it was a couple minutes on Denmark Standard Time.]

I could try, though. It'd be... nice to be able to make more things.

[Most of the things he could cook were bland fish dishes.]

[identity profile] pristinestar.livejournal.com 2011-01-15 04:36 am (UTC)(link)
Since last week...

[he lowered his eyes now, doing his best not to cry again...]

I'm really sorry, Mattie. I wish I could've helped the two of you more...

action;

[identity profile] vimyridge.livejournal.com 2011-01-15 04:42 am (UTC)(link)
[Getting Iceland to accept things is the first step. ...and what a big first step that is. They'll just have to be patient with him is all.]

And I'd be more than happy to teach you what I know. It'll give us both something to do other than sit around. [And dodge ghosts, which was beginning to become a regular occurance around Vatheon it seemed. So it was clearly a win-win. He was positive of that.]

[identity profile] vimyridge.livejournal.com 2011-01-15 04:46 am (UTC)(link)
...when I wasn't around. Figures. [With a shaky sigh, he ran a hand through his hair a few times.]

I- it's okay. You didn't do anything wrong so there's nothing to apologise for. I was the one who was dragging around.

[identity profile] pristinestar.livejournal.com 2011-01-15 04:58 am (UTC)(link)
...

No, I'm sure that you had your reasons... And I'm sure that he understood, too. He really likes you a lot, Mattie.

[identity profile] vimyridge.livejournal.com 2011-01-15 05:16 am (UTC)(link)
I guess... I'm just being too hard on myself, eh?

...we still have each other, right?

Re: action;

[identity profile] islandnation.livejournal.com 2011-01-15 05:22 am (UTC)(link)
[And what a wonderful day that future day will be.]

That it would. Sitting around... gets boring.[All the more reason he got this big house, instead of an apartment like he was used to; more variety of places to sit around and twiddle his thumbs. And possibly escape ghosts. It was impossible to keep track of his knitting stitches when he kept getting interrupted by the buggers, too.]
