Just.. an observation. [Iceland himself wasn't sure if it was a good thing or a bad thing, but that was another can of fish. And as far as Ice knew, Canada couldn't be pushy if he wanted to.]

Oh, okay. [It was an impressive amount of food, and all smelled delicious. He felt like he was in some late-night TV show or something... but that was probably because he watched so many foreign shows from Canada and America.]

[Canada's idea of being pushy included adding the word 'please' after everything. And maybe raising his voice just a tiny bit.]

What would you prefer to drink? [He had a choice of milk, orange juice, and coffee. Though if none of that suited him, he could probably go find something else quickly.]

[...Poor Canada.]

Coffee sounds fine.

[One day he'll learn. Maybe. ...probably not. He'll just continue being far too polite.]

Cream or sugar? [He was in the middle of pouring the coffee when he asked.]

[Probably. It was at least better than the opposite.]

A bit of sugar. Thank you.

[That is true. He could be much more like America, after all.]

Sure thing. [Adding a bit of sugar, he stirred it in and brought it over, setting the cup in front of him.] If you'd like more, let me know.

[From there, it was just putting food on the plate. ...which was pretty decent-sized. Ta-da.] Bon appétit.

[That he could. The world would be a very different place with two Americas running around.]

Alright. [He sipped it, and it tasted quite good.

The assortment of food was a bit overwhelming, almost.]

Takk. [He waited, though, for Canada to get some food as well.]

[Iceland then felt it was alright to start eating, and started with a pancake. He awkwardly poured some syrup onto his plate to go with it.]

It's delicious. Compliments to the cook.

[Even if he looked quite pleased, he was still blushing a tiny bit at the compliment.]

Thank you, eh. I think the fresh ingredients help things, too.

Fresh? Even down here in Vatheon?

[If fresh produce never seemed to survive well being transported above water... surely they didn't grow everything in the forest or something? Another probably-unsolvable mystery of Vatheon. But it did taste good.]

W- well, yes. Fresh enough, I'd imagine. [There's also that little fact that it never seems to be in short supply. Who knows. Maybe it really was magic.]

[He pondered that for a moment, wondering if he offended Canada somehow.] Just... weird. But it's not like you can complain about it or anything.

[It was a useless battle, Iceland found, to stop trying to make sense of the place. He continued to eat.]

[It was quite hard to offend him. ...sometimes. But even so, he was hardly offended.]

Nothing truly is normal around here, right? We just make it seem so.

Mm. [As much as he likes to pretend otherwise. But as far as being kept prisoner went, he felt it wasn't too much of a price to pay, to be honest.]

[He figured that it could always be worse. Then again, many things could always be worse and he really didn't want to think about that. It made the whole thing less pleasant.]

How is everything?

[ooc: it's okay, Iceland. Canada's fine with no conversation. As long as it's a comfortable silence.]

Everything tastes great. I really hope it wasn't too much trouble to cook..

T- thank you. [A warm smile accompanied his words.] None of it was too much trouble at all.

No problem. [He nodded, a ghost of a smile on his face as well. And then more awkward silence. Well, awkward as far as Iceland was concerned.]

[He seemed to be content enough and in good spirits. Plus, he didn't seem to feel that awkward at all. Not fully, anyway.]

So how have things been going?

Thing's've been okay. I found my own place and all. [It was big enough that he'd closed off half the rooms of the house to make it seem more.. like a home, but he had wanted to try living somewhere other than an apartment. The never-ending stream of ghosts hadn't really helped the move, but at least he had places to try to hide from them.]

And yourself?

[Smiling lightly, he gave him a slight nod.] That's good to hear. Have you been settling well enough? [Since, you know, it's sometimes hard to do with all the weird things that have been happening lately. It puts a bit of a damper on things.]

As for me, I'm re-settling back in, I guess. [Which was a bit vague of a statement, but it made sense to him.]

[Well, he was perpetually shaken up by the fact that all the time he'd been living in the house, there'd been ghosts around. But other than that..] Yes, well enough.

Mm. [Judging by more modern styles, he must have come back during a later time in history. And such strange statements seemed to make more sense here in Vatheon.] I take it that's going smoothly?

[He'd just have to start visiting more often is all. Perhaps then it'd start feeling more like a home instead of a habitat for ghosts or something.] I'm glad to hear that.

[There was a slight pause or two for a few moments before he casually shrugged his shoulders.] Well enough, all things considered. But... it's not so bad, I guess. It's only as if I'd been gone for a few days instead of the years back home.

[....Well. Knowing how Canada is. Still, small improvement.]

Oh, that's interesting. [He really was fascinated-- how many times does one see a rupture in the time-space continuum as we know it?-- but he didn't want to pry. After all, things might still be rough.] Did you still remember this place when you went back?
