Why hockey?

It's a rather popular sport back home and I find a certain joy and release in playing such a game.

I see. Do you think we could play that sport here?

I don't see why not. There's field hockey which can be played on an open grassy field and roller hockey which is placed on roller skates.

We could play field hockey in the forest, then! What are roller skates?

That'd be fun, actually. I haven't been to the forest yet but I should. That way I can see if there's any open spaces suitable.

Roller skates are pretty much boots with wheels on them. They work best on hard surfaces like sidewalks.

You haven't yet? I could accompany you one of these days! The leaves have started to fall, but I'm sure the forest is still wonderful.

And these "skates" all come from the future? From the West?

N- no. I've been meaning to, but I never seem to have been able to get out there. It's a shame, too, as I bet it would have been quite pretty when the leaves were changing colours.

If I remember correctly, roller skates were invented in Europe in the late eighteenth century. Ice skates have been around much longer, with animal bones actually being used at first.

What kept you inside? Were you sick?

Oh, I understand. I wonder when Japan had them...? Even better, I wonder if Vatheon has them right now? We could skate! Could you teach me how?
